UNDYING FLOWER BIG CONCEPT CHANGE
It's been more than 4 years since the last time we gave an update about this game on this page, we're truly sorry about that. But we didn't lie, we haven't abandoned the project since then.
In 2020, we approached a lot of publishers and got a lot of feedback from them, and we planned a lot of updates before we went to GDC 2020. But then as you probably know, that year covid hit the world, and the impact from that is quite huge to us. GDC was canceled, and after that, we needed to adapt to working from home, lack of staff, budget, and resources in general. To survive in those times and keep continuing the development of Undying Flower, we decided to focus solely on development, which is why we've not been active on social media for more than 3 years (before there was someone who helped us with that as well.)
We've been working non-stop, and the game has changed a lot since then, we changed a lot of the concepts while trying to keep the core of the story intact, for those of you who wants to know, here's some of the big changes we made to the game:
-The game content will be shorter and more compact, we planned a lot of stories for different characters, but for this game, we'll focus on the story of Nala, the character that was in the demo that we released in 2020, and expand on that.
-The game is still about visiting and changing someone's memory, but the world concept has changed according to the new story and is centered around the new character called "The Flower" Also, instead of focusing on a big environment, we decided to do a bunch of small environments so it's more manageable, while still giving players variation of visuals to look at along the way.
-The gameplay has also changed, it still has a bit of exploration part in it, but it's gonna be more dialogue-centered, we use a VN-like concept where we have some dialogue options for you to choose, from and progress the story depending on it.
-We have 3 characters in this game, our main character will be Nala from the future and also her past, her grandpa from the past, and then there's a new character that we created for this story, called The Flower, which is the "owner" of this magical world that you'll be seeing.
-Music is a big part of this game, other than beautiful instrumentals that will accompany you in the game, we also featured some original songs that will be played in the game.
Those are some of the big changes in the game, we have been posting weekly updates about our game on our social media, and we will do the same here as well.
